Great design freedom
Thermoforming offers great design freedom. Blisters and clamshells produced from thermoplastic film present an excellent opportunity to present the contents of the package to the consumer.There is a huge choice in terms of type, colour, thickness and other properties. Many standard types are available. Special requirements, e.g. colour, can be met, subject to the film manufacturer´s minimum order quantity.
- Folding or clamshell blisters
This is a twin blister design. The two halves are connected by a hinge. This form of packaging has the advantage that the contents are fully visible, as with the seal blister between cards. The packaging is closed by clicking features moulded into the blister or by welding. If a blister card is used it is inserted between or inside the two halves of the pack. Folding blisters can be closed without special equipment. - Wrap-around blister
Wrap-around blisters are perfect for packaging fragile products. The blister has hinged parts which are wrapped around the contents. In this way the blister fully encloses the product for the best possible protection. Wrap-around blisters can be closed without special equipment. - Standard blisters
Sealed Air Nelipak® produces not only custom designed blisters but can also supply you with standard blisters. The moulds for this type of packaging are available off the shelf. The wide range of designs and sizes mean that suitable moulds are available for many different products. Standard moulds can be fitted with product-specific inserts to produce semi custom products quickly at relatively low cost. Sealed Air Nelipak® can also offer a range of standard sealed and clamshell blisters.
